TheAsiaPacificSocietyofOphthalmicPlasticandReconstructiveSurgery(APSOPRS)hasbeenworkingsinceasamajorsubspecialtyofOphthalmology.WehaveatightconnectionwiththesupranationalorganizationslikeInternationalCouncilofOphthalmologyandAsiaPacificAcademyofOphthalmology.We,therefore,havearesponsibilityforallthepatientsinourregiontoimprovetheireyefunctionwithupdatedknowledgeandmodifiedskill.
AlthoughtheAsia-Pacificregionhasmorethanhalfthepopulationoftheworld,manyofthesehavereceivedlittlechancetotakeapropertreatmentofoculoplastybecauseofsmallnumberofoculoplasticspecialists.Inordertoimprovetheseadversecircumstances,themostimportantfactoristoprovidehighqualityeducation.Ourvitaleffortistoprovidethebestpossibletrainingthroughqualityfellowshipprograms.TheimpetusforthiscanbeprovidedbyholdingCMEactivities,workshopsandconferences.Theyshouldbeheldindifferentpartsofthisvastregiontospreadthebaseandtodevelopinterestinthespecialtyinallparts.
